MICRO-Un centro transfrontaliero di eccellenza per promuovere ricerca, formazione e specializzazione in Microchirurgia.

Lunedì 23 febbraio, alle 10.30 nell’aula magna dell’I.S.I.S “Luigi di Maggio” di San Giovanni Rotondo, l’IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza presenterà il progetto di ricerca “MICRO – A cross-border microsurgery center of excellence for the promotion of research, training and educational“. L’evento, aperto a tutti, rappresenta il primo Info-Day italiano organizzato dall’ospedale di San Pio.

Finanziato dal Programma Europeo di Cooperazione Territoriale Grecia-Italia 2007-2013, il progetto ha come obiettivo la creazione di un centro transfrontaliero di eccellenza per la promozione della ricerca, della formazione e della specializzazione in Microchirurgia. Coinvolge 4 enti di ricerca: l’IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenzadi San Giovanni Rotondo e l’AVR-Lab (Laboratorio di Realtà Aumentata e Virtuale) dell’Università del Salento per l’Italia; la Fondazione per la Ricerca e la Tecnologia FORTH-IMBB di Heraklion e ilLaboratorio di Microchirurgia dell’Università di Ionnina per la Grecia.

The 2nd International Conference on Augmented and Virtual Reality (SALENTO AVR 2015) will take place in Lecce (Italy) from August 31 to September 3, 2015 with the aim to bring a community of researchers from academia and industry, computer scientists, engineers, physicians together in order to share points of views, knowledge, experiences and scientific and technical results, related to state-of-the-art solutions and technologies on virtual and augmented reality applications for medicine, cultural heritage, education, industrial sectors, as well as the demonstration of advanced products and technologies. Presentations and discussions will span topics from virtual environments and augmented reality to 3D user interfaces and the technology needed to enable these environments to a wide range of applications (medical, entertainment, military, design, manufacture, maintenance, arts and cultural heritage).

The objective of the IP “Innovation and Technology for Smart Cities (ITSmart)” is to bring together students and academics from across Europe in order to approach or improve knowledge of some advanced and innovative technologies with the aim to design and develop ICT services and applications necessary for building of smart cities.
